Raising The Next Iron Chef?

A couple months ago, my large extended family attended a healthy cooking class held at a local Hy-Vee. The store holds classes regularly, but this was one arranged by my mom for just us. We watched as a healthy meal was prepared using fresh ingredients, and then, of course, we got to eat it.

Attending a class like this is always enlightening, even if you think you know everything there is to know about health cooking.

This morning, I discovered there are classes like this for children held at Whole Foods. I can’t wait for Henry to be a little older to go to one of these classes. He’s still a picky eater, so I’d hope he might be open to trying something new in a setting like this.

Upcoming fall-inspired classes for your budding young chef include Apples Aplenty, Roots and Fruits, and a Halloween class. Incidentally, there are classes for grown ups too, including a good one on making your own baby food.
