Omaha outdoorsy folk, here’s a site for you. I stumbled across Omaha Trails the other day and it lists a lot of great things for all types of sports enthusiasts. Whether you’re a hiker, biker, runner or a walker, they’ve got something for you. If it involves a trail, you’ll find it listed here.

I particularly like the Metro Trails listing, which details each trail’s location and length, as well as pros and cons of being on that trail (ie., narrow bridges, restrooms availability, ample parking, etc. Each listing also has a map and lets you know which trails are linked together. Also important this time of year, it lists trail closures.

There is also an events calendar (which probably could use some updating, since there has to be more going on then what’s listed. Maybe not…). There also links to interesting stories, both local and worldwide, and lists some area clubs and organizations.

The site is sponsored by the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resource District.
