Here’s a set of moms that I find pretty impressive. These six women will run nearly 200 miles over the course of a little more than a day, all the while raising money for a nonprofit that helps homeless get off the street.
That in itself is admirable.
The fact that these six have 19 kids between them – while also competing in Ironman events, finishing with a ranking in major marathons, do anything physically demanding … – is even more admirable.
According to the team’s leader, Karen Redmond, “Four of us are in our 40s. I really wanted to try to empower and motivate women that have kids so they can be fit.”
We all can’t be fast enough to finish with a single-digit ranking in a marathon (I’m happy with my four-digit ranking. OK, it might’ve been five-digit). But, this story should hopefully inspire some of you uncertain about juggling family and fitness.
It can be done.
